Ira's expertise is the intersection of marketing, licensing, consumer trends, and retailing. As publisher of The Licensing Letterfrom 1990 through 2014 he developing a wide array of surveys, research studies, and reports including “The Royalty Trends Report,” “Sports Licensing Report,” “International Licensing: A Status Report,” “The Licensing Business Databook,” “Licensing Metrics,” and others. Today, he conducts competitive research for marketing and licensing companies; teaches at LIU Post; and consults for the university on customized and executive education. Ira started his journalism career as a rock and roll critic for the Village Voice, NY Post, and others. He holds a BA from Hunter College, and MA from NYU, where he taught marketing courses for 20 years.
